24/7 Prayer - February 28th
As you could well imagine there were many prayers noted for David and Yvette as we all walk out their succession. In addition for the Transitional Team for them to have continued wisdom, discernment and understanding.
Thank you to all who participated. Here are more of the points prayed and scriptures noted.
- Taste and see that the Lord He is good.
- Jeremiah 29:11-13, Acts 2:42-47
Here's what one person wrote and I believe it sumarizes yet amplifies many of the prayers that were prayed.
The words refresh, restore and rediscover are at the forefront of my thoughts this morning.
Restore what has been taken from us over the years; restore our anointing as a body to the City of Victoria and as individuals; restore our sense of belonging in the community of believers; restore our sense of direction; restore the gifts that have and are and will be in us corporately and individually. Restore signifies something that was full, but through the years has been depleted, hasn't had the shelves restocked through various circumstances. It is something that was, but now isn't. So Lord it is You who will restock our "Spiritual" shelves. So come Lord an fill us to overflowing. Fill our shelves so full that we wouldn't have the room to contain it all and we must give it away. Come Lord and 'restore us.
Secondly refresh. I am reminded of a room in a house or the house itself with its' blinds drawn, its' windows and doors shut for years. There has been no exhange of oxygen or light. The house becomes musty and stale and if left in this state will eventually crumble and fall...So Lord open the windows pull back the blinds and open every door to our house,(our hearts). May we have an incredible exchange of your life giving oxygen and light. Come Lord with your refreshing Spirit and refresh us, make us new again.
Re: when you put a 're' in front of the word it signifies establishing again the things to their former self.
Thirdly is rediscover; Lord help us to rediscover who we are in You. May we rediscover lost treasures in ourselves. May we rediscover who we were created and meant to be. May we rediscover Your glory, Your peace, Your majesty, Your omnipresence, Your love, Your kindness, Your gentleness. Lord when the explorers were sent to to discover a new world, they had no idea what they would encounter, what storms would befall them, what joys or sorrows they would encounter, they just went. Lord may we as a body rediscover the exciteent of exploration. May we explore new realms of the Holy Spirit, new realms of our giftings, new realms of worship, new realms of ministry, new realms of Love and relationships with one another and the world outside of these church doors...
May you re establish our proper place in the scheme of things. Keep moving us forward and not stumbling back. It is far better to stumble forwards into something new, something unfamiliar than to stumble backwards. Keep giving us forward motion and forward thnking but also to embrace the moment.
We Love You Lord!!
Suggested Prayers
Outline for Our Prayer Life
As suggested by Jesus Christ in
Matthew 6:9-13 & Luke 11:2-4
Our Father in heaven, hallowed (Holy) be your name
• Praise, worship and glorify God according to who He is and what He has done.
Your Kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven
• Ask that the Kingdom of Heaven would be manifested on earth, in and through us. That He would rule and reign over our rebellious flesh and the powers of darkness that rule this present age. That the fear of God, the power of God, and the gifts of God would become an increasing reality in the Church.
Give us today our daily bread
• Pray your needs and the needs of others would be provided (food, shelter, clothing, etc) in a tangible way. Also, our spiritual food, Jesus Christ (the bread of life) would be provided.
Forgive us our sins for we also forgive everyone who sins against us
• Show us who we need to forgive and how to receive forgiveness. Settle past accounts as God give us revelation of unforgiveness in our hearts.
…..and lead us not into temptation
• Holy Spirit of Truth show us the things that tempt us and separate us from God. Let the truth expose the excuses and the lies we have listened to. Destroy the liar among us. Show us what temptations we are to flee from.
…..but deliver us from the evil one
• Ask for deliverance from the attacks of the devil. Ask God for revelation that exposes Satan’s handwork, oppression and binding power at work in our lives and the lives of others. Ask for God’s love and power to increase in the Church so that many would be set free from the powers of darkness. Ask for strength to stand against the evil one.
